The construction of buildings has been focused on the industrialization of the construction and the obtaining of a minimal cost with a high construction speed. Secondary civil buildings are built according to a model project, where only the number of floors, sections and architectural decoration differ. As a rule, a number of buildings have a limited number of apartment plans, a common architectural style and the same construction technology.
Cahul series similar to the MS series buildings made of prefabricated panels, with a roof of asbestos-plated flats with a high degree of impermeability.
Such buildings are resistant to earthquakes and, respectively, have increased durability over time.
In Chisinau, this series are in the Ciocana (Mircea cel Batran blvd) and Telecentru (Hancesti street).
Balti series - 9 levels houses built in the 70s and 80s, usually made of prefabricated panels, with 300 mm exterior walls, expanded clay thermal insulation and 160 mm internal walls.
The buildings of the Bălţi series are distinguished by balconies with more specific shapes, the kitchen 8-9 m2 and the separate bathroom. These are more common in the Ciocana sector (Igor Vieru street, Petru Zadnipru street).
Brejnevka - buildings made of limestone blocks in 1965-1980, during L.I. Brejnev, in 5 levels, with the height of the ceilings of 2,7-2,8 m. The blocks are sometimes equipped with a garbage line.
They have good sound insulation. Apartments in such blocks have separate rooms and toilets, spacious balconies.
Brejnevka is often found in the Botanica, Center, Riscani and Buiucani sectors.
Series 102 - series of 5 floors buildings, built in the '80s and' 90s, made of limestone with reinforced concrete structure, which generates good thermal insulation. The planning of this series are comfortable with separate square rooms, kitchens of 8-9 m2, long balconies. Usually are 3-4 apartments per floor.
In Chisinau, this series are in the Botanica sector (Valea Crucii street, Cuza Voda blvd, Traian blvd), Râşcani (Matei Basarab street, Socoleni street, Ceucari street), Center(Grădinilor Street, Drumul Viilor Street).
Series 135 - series of buildings in 9 levels, made of prefabricated panels, with monolithic concrete foundation, insulated with expanded clay. The exterior walls have a thickness of 300 mm, the interior walls 220 mm, and the roof of bituminous hydroinsulating material in rolls.
They are frequently found in the Botanica sector (Dacia blvd, Independence Street, Botanica Garden Street), Ciocana (Igor Vieru Street, N. M. Spataru Street), Râşcani (Andrei Doga Street, Bogdan Voievod Street ).
Series 143 - one of the most popular and demanded series, built in the '80s and '92s, made of panels, in 9 levels, the roof of bituminous foil on wooden bars, with internal drainage system. The block has large staircase and elevator. Planning is characterized by spacious balconies and entrances. These buildings have a high degree of seismic resistance.
They are frequently found in the Riscani (Studenţilor street, Moscow blvd), Ciocana (Igor Vieru street, Petru Zadnipru street), the Botanica (Valea Crucii street, Cuza Voda blvd, Traian Bd.), Center ( Ismail street, C. Negruzzi blvd), Buiucani (Ion Neculce street, Liviu Deleanu street, Alba Iulia blvd).
Czech or Ceska Series - blocks similar to the 102 series, built in 1975-1990, in 5 levels. They are characterized by very successful and comfortable plannings, the ceilings are higher, the separate sanitary block and the balconies (loggies) are much more spacious, allowing the kitchen / bedroom to be enlarged on their account.
Blocks are gasified, the staircase is often heated. They are frequently found in the Râşcani (Miron Costin street, Matei Basarab street).
Khrushchevka - buildings built in 1955-1975, in 4-5 levels, with the height of the ceilings of 2.5-2.7 m. They have good thermal insulation. Usually, the kitchen has 4.8-6 m2. Interior walls allow easy replanning of apartments. Most of the apartments in the Khrushchevka series have a spacious closet. They were originally built of limestone, then made of prefabricated panels. They are very common in: Botanica (N. Titulescu street, N. Zelinski street, Hristo Botev street, Pandurilor street, Minsk street), Râşcani (Bogdan Voievod street, Miron Costin street, Kiev street), Center (C. Negruzzi blvd, Grigore Vieru blvd), Buiucani (V. Lupu street, Ion Creanga street).
MS Series (Moldavian) - series of blocks with 5 or 9/10 levels, made of panels. It is divided into 2 groups: Type I MS - with outer walls of 330-350 mm, insulated with expanded clay, inner walls of 140-160 mm and the roof of corrugated sheets of asbestos. Type II MS - with exterior walls of 350 mm and 140 mm internal walls, and roof of bitumen. Ceilings have heights of 2.75 - 2.8 m, the rooms are separated. The MS series blocks are equipped with elevator and garbage ducts.
These blocks are very widespread in Chisinau, especially in the Ciocana sector (Igor Vieru stree, Petru Zadnipru street, Ginta Latina street), Center (Albişoara street, Negruzzi blvd), Râşcani (Andrei Doga street, Moscow blvd, Matei Basarab street), Buiucani (Liviu Deleanu street, Nicolae Costin street), Botanica (Cuza Voda blvd).
MSV series (Moldavian Varniţa) - the series of MS-series panels, with successful planning, separate sanitary units, spacious balconies. Blocks are equipped with an elevator up to the last level. These are more common in the Ciocana (Igor Vieru street, Petru Zadnipru street, Mircea cel Batran blvd), Râşcani (Matei Basarab street, Moscow blvd), Buiucani (Alba Iulia blvd), Botanica (Traian blvd).
Stalinka - limestone buildings in 2-3 levels, with increased longevity, high resistance to fire and earthquakes. They were built in 1945-1953 during the period of I. Stalin. The main advantages are the successful planning and the height of the room of 3 - 3.20 m. The surface of the one-room apartments is about 30-35 m2, with two rooms - 50-55 m2, with three - 60-70 m2. Most of this type of building is located in the center (Stefan cel Mare blvd, A. Pushkin street, C.Negruzzi blvd, Renașterii blvd).
