According to data provided by the National Bureau of Statistics, between January and March 2021 the total number of properties put into operation increased by 55% compared to the same period last year.

In the first quarter of this year, both in Chisinau and throughout the Republic of Moldova, 1836 homes (apartments and individual houses) were put into operation. This means with 825 more homes than in January-March 2020.

The total area of dwellings put into operation in January-March 2021 amounted to 141.0 thousand m², by 50.9% more than in January-March 2020.

Out of the total of 1836 dwellings put into operation, 1,526 units are apartments in residential complexes, and 310 units are individual dwelling houses.

According to the number of homes put into operation in the first quarter of 2021, we have the following statistical data:

  •       Chisinau municipality - 1,539 dwellings
  •       Center region - 152 homes
  •       North region - 73 dwellings
  •       South region - 17 homes
  •       ATU Gagauzia - 55 homes.

Analyzing the statistical data listed above we can see that the trend of real estate investments remained the same compared to the previous year. Due to the migration of the population from the regions to the capital of the Republic of Moldova, Moldovans continue to invest in the construction of new apartments in Chisinau.
