The apartment rental market in Chisinau has practically collapsed due to refugees arriving from Ukraine fleeing the war in their country.
Most of the apartments in Chisinau are rented out for a long-term lease, at least for a year, and most landlords are not yet ready to offer them for a short-term lease.
Almost all apartments available for rent a week ago were already occupied in the first 2-3 days from the start of the mass arrival of Ukrainian citizens. Thus, at the moment it is almost impossible to find an apartment or house for rent in Chisinau in the short and medium term.
However, there is a big mobilization from conscientious Moldovans who are not indifferent. They place people from Ukraine in their homes absolutely free of charge, both in Chisinau and its suburbs, and in various villages and cities throughout the Republic of Moldova.
The same mass mobilization is observed on the part of the state, which organizes free transport from customs to more than 60 accommodation centers, where refugees are provided with the bare minimum.
However, there is a huge need for rental housing to meet the growing demand. For this reason, we call on you to show solidarity with the Ukrainian people and make your contribution.
